A lot of what you say is true....
about the Texas voting block and members liking the current payout. Your last 3 sentences appear to be wishful thinking at best and outright Big 12 propaganda at worst. Given a variety of pressures nobody outside the Big 12 thinks their "new TV deal will be at least as good and in all likelihood, better" without things changing drastically. They are currently getting paid for a contract that assumed more members than they delivered but, that was left standing because to undo it would have likely had some negative consequences for all parties involved. The next contract will ride on a combination of things including whether Texas actually returns to form, whether the Big 12 can remain a legitimate playoff threat and what other conference expansion landscape possibilities look like. The Big 12 is already negotiating from a whole because most recognize their current contract is far more favorable than the product they delivered.
